Local and Large Scale Environments
To understand environmental dependence of AGN onset on kpc scales, we must investigate the morphological properties of all massive galaxies at high-z, and examine these properties against ISM characteristics (i.e., cold dust masses, old and young stellar populations) and AGN occupation fractions. Studies on the dissipative processes that drive major gas inflows towards a galaxy’s central region (such as mergers, stellar bars and disk instabilities) are essential for understanding AGN fueling and/or star-formation triggering.

In Lambrides+21a, I found if you want to use humans to classify morphologies of galaxies using humans, and many times you have to at some point, bayesian stats is the way to go!

Using a data-driven AGN morphology classification approach, I found up until cosmic noon, most AGN are NOT associated in grand mergers outside of what you would expect for controlled samples of non-AGN
